Young People Speak. EMCCA Listens. We Act Together
The EMCCA Youth Committee brings together young people from across the region to help shape decisions that affect their lives, communities, and future opportunities.
The committee provides a platform for their voices to be heard, ensuring that their priorities, concerns, and ideas are reflected in our work. Members represent a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, working collaboratively to influence policy, programmes, and local initiatives.
What do we do?
The Youth Committee plays an active role in:
- Advising decision-makers on issues affecting young people
- Co-designing projects and initiatives that support youth development
- Representing young people’s views at regional meetings and events
- Supporting community engagement and outreach activities
- Championing inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities
Young people are key to the future of our region. The Youth Committee exists to ensure that:
- Young people have a voice in decision-making
- Policies are shaped by real lived experiences
- Opportunities are accessible and relevant to all young people
- Future leaders are supported and empowered
We’re looking for young people who:
- Are passionate about making a difference
- Want to represent their peers and community
- Are interested in local issues and decision-making
- Can commit to attending meetings and activities
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all young people feel welcome and supported.
The wellbeing and safety of young people is a priority. Where appropriate, young people attending Youth Committee meetings or events may be supported by a chaperone or other responsible adult.
