We’re kicking off our summer engagement events next week, to explore how we can make sure everyone benefits from growth in the East Midlands. At these events Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward, is inviting local people to get involved in the conversations and to name one thing they’d change to make the East Midlands stronger.
At each event, the Mayor will talk about the region’s £4 billion investment plan. Members of the Commission will also share their work and lead small group discussions to hear your ideas.
You will also have the opportunity to directly hear from and meet two of our Inclusive Growth Commission members, Gillian Sewell, CEO of YMCA Derbyshire (in Derby) and Dr Andy Haynes, Executive Lead of Nottinghamshire’s Integrated Care System (in Chesterfield).
They are members of the East Midlands Inclusive Growth Commission, which was set up by the Mayor and the RSA to work with communities, businesses, local authorities and health and skills leaders, about ways of opening up the benefits of growth t more people and places in the region.
The events will take place in Derby on 22 July, Chesterfield on 23 July and Nottingham on 24 July, and residents, businesses, local authorities and community leaders are all being invited to attend. The Nottingham event has now reached capacity but there’s still time to register for one of the other events, so don’t miss out, make sure you sign up now to share your thoughts with the Mayor.
Details about how to register your interest in the Derby and Chesterfield are available here – East Midlands Combined County Authority: summer engagement events
Your feedback will help shape the Local Growth Plan and East Midlands’ Inclusive Growth Commission (IGC) final report , which will be launched this autumn. The report and plan will show how growing our economy can support national progress and make sure no one is left behind.
