Following the guidance of the National Bus Strategy, published in March 2021, Local transport authorities set out the vision, objectives and delivery plans to improve local bus services and grow bus patronage in one key document, the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).
The four constituent authorities refreshed and published their individual BSIP documents in 2024. EMCCA will work collaboratively with the constituent authorities to develop a joint regional BSIP for future years. In the first instance EMCCA has built the 2025/26 BSIP Delivery Plan based on the existing Constituent Council led schemes.
