Just three months after launching the region’s first Corporate Plan, Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward is already delivering big results. Mayor Claire Ward is bringing in billions of pounds in investment, supporting work to create thousands of new jobs, and setting out a bold vision for a greener, fairer, and more successful region.
Since April 2025, East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) has hit the ground running, working at pace with local and national partners to turn the Mayor’s ambition into action.
The benefits for communities across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and the wider East Midlands are already taking shape.

The Inclusive Growth Commission also shared its first findings, with final recommendations coming later this year — ensuring no community is left behind as we grow.
The Mayor has also been championing the region and pushing for greater powers from Government to deliver more for local people.
Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward, said:
“The East Midlands is on the move and we’re just getting started. In just three months, we’ve brought in billions in investment, backed bold ideas with real delivery, and opened up new opportunities for people across our region. From cleaner transport and new homes to world-leading green energy and future-ready skills, we are laying the foundations for a fairer, stronger, more confident East Midlands. I was elected to get things done and this is what delivery looks like.”
